December 5 — 9, 2022 In a nutshell: we're hard at work on the app and other features of the platform, DIP-7 is rejected, and we've launched a pool on Puzzle Swap.

Waves Duck Hunt app. So, the app is now 4 days old. Despite the tremendous effort it took to release it, this is just the beginning. The road to launch was a bumpy one: the more functionality the game received, the worse the web version was suited for it, and the endless Apple rejections didn't give us confidence in the exact launch date of the app. Because of this, any more complex functionality was pushed back, as it would have broken the already poorly functioning browser-based version of the game. So we were in a sort of limbo.
It was like this until December 6! Now the app has been released, and we're working on it full steam ahead. So a little bit about the future:
Bug fixes. Despite the fact that the application works many times better than the browser version, it also has a lot of bugs. We track all kinds of issues both with your help and ourselves and fix them one by one. So be sure to report bugs you find to our admins.
Autonomy. Duck Hunt is a standalone app, so that the user wouldn’t need to go to the website to use any of the features they want. It's our shared inside team vision for the game. Marketplace, breeding, hatching, feeding ducklings, sending ducks into the game, buying EGGs, and anything else that has to do with Duck Hunt will be added to the app so that players don't have to leave it.
SEED account login and signup. Right now, in order to register, the player has to go to the Waves Ducks website, register by e-mail, and only after that they can go to the app and use their account to play. Of course, this is inconvenient and soon we will add in-app registration. This also relates to autonomy.
With SEED accounts, things are a bit more complicated. To authorize via SEED, you have to wait until the release of the Keeper Wallet app, because entering a SEED phrase into a third-party app (even if it is one of ours) is a threat to security.
Game mechanics development. We plan to add a lot more content to the game. We won't be sharing specifics here yet, as we're still in the process of discussing most things. But the game will definitely not be limited to just collecting SPICE from eggs. Among the things we can tell, we plan to update the skill tree by adding a few new skills. Your current levels and skills will not be affected.
UI/UX. The original browser version was designed for even less functionality than it has now, let alone in the future. A lot of things were done on the fly, so now some screens look out of place, others just look messy, some buttons are out of place, some illustrations are not rendered, and so on. This will all be changed soon. The closest will be an update of the profile screen.
There's a lot more to tell about the app, but we'll leave that for the future. In the meantime, you can download it here for iOS, or here for Android.
Launch of the mega pool on Puzzle Swap. SPICE can now be exchanged on Puzzle Swap. As for the pool liquidity providers, they will be rewarded with boosted APY until December 31! Here’s the link to the pool.
DIP-7. The first DIP with a vote was rejected by the community. We took into account people's concerns about reducing the amount of EGG allocated to farming per day. Duck rentals, DH investment potential, and more than doubling the SPICE rewards for almost all duck types could not overpower the reduction in farming. The vote was actually pretty close, with the outcome decided by a few votes from those very players with a lot of farming power. Of course, these are the players who would be most affected by the farming changes.
Anyway, the DIP is rejected. We will think about what to do next. In any case, the current farming model does not suit us, and it does the project more harm than good.
Cache API. This is another priority. There are still problems in this area, but they will be fixed soon. The new cache API will allow us to finally display cosmetic items on ducks, add HuntPower metrics for ducks in the marketplace, and give us more options in general.
New Genesis. And also we released a new genesis! Now there are as many as 2 rare geneses in the incubator, practically absent on the marketplace. So you have a huge chance of getting the rarest genes!
